2 Nephi 23:19–22

And Babylon,
_the glory of kingdoms,
_the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency,
_shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.

It shall never be inhabited,
_neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation:

Neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there;
_neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.

But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there;
_and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures;
_and owls shall dwell there,
_and satyrs shall dance there.

And the wild beasts of the islands
_shall cry in their desolate houses,
_and dragons in their pleasant palaces;
_and her time is near to come,
_and her day shall not be prolonged.

For I will destroy her speedily;
_yea, for I will be merciful unto my people,
_but the wicked shall perish.
