They are now located at the same final place of battle, and there is a lonely witness to record the events. Ether is the witness, and Ether does not fight in the battle, although Moroni did. Nevertheless, Moroni would see parallels between Ether as the remaining recording witness and himself, who is also alone and witness to the destruction of his own people.
