Moroni is empowered to oversee the work of completing the commission regarding the sacred records and arranging for their coming forth as an integral part of the Restoration in the latter days. This divine calling transcends the mortal sphere of operation. Moroni is to come forth as a resurrected being to consummate his commission in the latter days. He will also be present as a divine emissary and agent of God on the day of judgment to confirm his sacred commission. We will be judged by the words contained in the Book of Mormon and all the holy scriptures. Moroni’s final statement to the world and to his future readership is this: “And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon go to rest in the paradise of God, until my spirit and body shall again reunite, and I am brought forth triumphant through the air, to meet you before the pleasing bar of the great Jehovah, the Eternal Judge of both quick and dead. Amen.” (Moroni 10:34). We will come to know Moroni personally on that day, when we account before the Great Judge for our thoughts, desires, words, and deeds while in this life. Let us be prepared and purified in anticipation of that blessed hour.
