“They Sorrowed in Their Hearts”
Why would they sorrow? Did they worry that perhaps their request might be perceived by the Master as selfish or self-serving? Did they feel that perhaps they were asking too much? Did they worry that perhaps they—choosing to continue their work rather than come directly to the presence and glory of Jesus, as the nine had desired—might offend or hurt the Master’s feelings?
