"I Could Not Show Unto Them So Great Miracles"

Brant Gardner

Jesus declares to the twelve that their experience is unique. Perhaps these New World disciples desired to know how they compared to those who had been privileged to live for years with the Messiah in the flesh and thought of the difference with longing. Jesus lets them know that their faith is superior to that of even his closest followers in the Old World: “There are none of them that have seen so great things as ye have seen; neither have they heard so great things as ye have heard.” Those of the Old World had their own particular blessings, but these twelve (as well as all who had gathered in Bountiful) had special blessings that were theirs alone.
