As Jesus ascended into heaven it must have been like a signal of adjournment because these people hurried to the nearby city. They had sensational news to relate to their friends and neighbors or even strangers. They therefore rushed into the community surrounding or adjacent to the temple and spread the word.
The following morning a vast throng collected at the temple. They must have been radiant with anticipation. Of course, in the beginning Jesus had not yet appeared but the disciples were there. And now we hear the names of all twelve.
