The people assemble themselves in amazement to ponder the extraordinary events they have experienced. Thrice they hear a small but piercing voice from the heavens, and upon the third occasion they are finally able to understand the thrilling message. God the Father, Elohim, introduces His Beloved Son, the Savior and Redeemer of the world, the Lord Jesus Christ, just as at the time of the Savior’s baptism (see Matthew 3:17), upon the Mount of Transfiguration (see Matthew 17:5), and in the Sacred Grove (see Joseph Smith—History 1:17). It is a fundamental principle of truth that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost testify of one another before the world. This act of divine witnessing is the pattern for all testimony-bearing in the gospel. Let us remember with gratitude the testimony of the Father for the Son. And, in turn, let us testify of the goodness of God and the truth of the gospel “at all times, and in all places” (Mosiah 18:9).
