One sign of the times is the perilous moment when the voice of the people chooses iniquity. The Book of Mormon includes multiple cases where that turns out to be the case—resulting in the destruction of entire nations. On a massive scale, the fates of the Jaredites and the Nephites are the most compelling cases in point. As members of any society, we are duty bound to become involved in the process of encouraging and enacting laws and government policies that will be for the good of all and that will sustain the momentum of the majority electing righteous patterns of behavior and governance.
