Sharing with others the many bounties we receive from God's hand, not only adds peace and comfort to our hearts, but it awakens within us a love for His children that increases with each passing day. We show by our actions that we are truly His children and that He is the Father of all.
It is indisputable that "feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and administering to their relief, both spiritually and temporally," renders us more obedient to God's commandments and thereby creates in us a clean heart and renews a steadfast spirit within us. (See, Ps. 51-10) Doing so is a sacrifice of righteousness when, in offering it, we put our trust in the Lord. There is no surer way to remember the Lord, His goodness and mercy, than to serve His children who want and have not.
Blessings without number attend the giver of these things. Not only do we retain a remission of our sins, but it follows that also we may walk "guiltless before God," who is our loving parent.
